Towards Financial Self-Reliance
Given limited indigenous social investor base, building sustainable institutions and programmes remains a critical challenge for the Southern Citizens Organisations (SCOs). An important part of the solution lies in diverisfying their support base, both in terms of financial and human resources, by tapping indigenous social investors, philanthropists and vlunteers.
Though, financial self-reliance has become a buzzword in development jargon, there is an extreme paucity of literature on it. Mr. Richard Holloway, with his decades of experience as a development worker in Asia, Africa and the Caribbean, has now written what sure to become the landmark book on this important topic.
