Course Purpose:

“It is not the strongest of the species that survive, nor the most intelligent, but the one most responsive to change” - Charles Darwin 1809-1882, English biologist and father of the evolution theory.

The magnitude of change in today's nonprofit environment is unprecedented. Change is a continuous process and a fact of life.  With the rapid development taking place all around us, organizational change is also inevitable. Employees are expected to adapt to this change successfully. People have realized the need to equip themselves with this fact and that’s why the topic of Change Management has become an important aspect of Organizations Development worldwide.

CSRC has developed this 2 day workshop to help participants working in Civil Society Organizations to understand the essence of change management and provides mechanisms to cope with this process. This course will assist participants to welcome change, develop new approaches based on ‘knowledge transfer’ model and will enable them to build their own change management strategies.

Who should attend:

This course is aimed at professionals who wish to understand the dynamics and impact of change both in their personal and professional life. This course will help participants to view change from a different perspective. Participants will develop their capacities to use change in a positive and constructive manner in all areas of their life.

Civil Society Resource Centre (formerly NGORC):

Civil Society Resource Centre is a project of the Aga Khan Foundation established with the mission to enhance organizations and systems that promote gender sensitive, participatory approaches to sustainable and equitable development.

Realizing the need to improve the impact of training conducted for the citizen sector, Civil Society Resource Centre has embarked on an innovative 'Capacity Development Program’. The courses offered under this new program aim to build competencies of development professionals through an 'Outcome-Based' approach and participatory learning process.

Facilitator's Profile:

Rezwana Khan is an Assistant Manager Capacity Development Program at Civil Society Resource Centre. She has over 20 years of work experience which include eight years of management Consultancy experience in the nonprofit sector. Rezwana has worked both within the country and internationally. Her areas of specialization include Organizational Capacity Assessment, Organizational Development, Strategic Planning and Human Resource Management. She has coordinated various programs which include Development Management Program, Organizational Development, Young development Fellowship Program and Livelihood Up gradation and Youth Development Program.

Aazia Rafiq Jindani works as a Capacity Development Officer at the Civil Society Resource Centre (CSRC). She has diversified research and training experience in the financial and academic sectors. Aazia holds a Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Masters in Information Technology and is a M.B.A graduate with bi-majors in MIS and Marketing.

Learning Outcome:

At the end of the session participants will be able to:

  1. Understand the basic principles and dynamics of change management
  2. Clearing up myths about Change Management
  3. How to identify opportunities amidst chaos
  4. Recognize natural human reactions to change and dealing with resistance to change.
  5. Establishing team synergy during change

Registration Details:

Fee includes materials and refreshment during the workshop. It does not include the cost of board and lodging. Participants are requested to make their own arrangements for accommodation.

Please send your nomination with the workshop fee paid through a bank draft in the name of Aga Khan Foundation (As part of AKDN, AKF is exempted from tax deduction at source). Please note that payment through cheque is not acceptable. On acceptance of nomination (s), participants will receive a confirmation email from CSRC.
